If By Now

If By Now, self-produced, is the recording project I did with my 2001 band. Performing out live as a trio took second place to the work we did on this record in the studio.

Jason and Fred Domulot, two brothers, played the bass and drums, respectively. Two of the songs, Red and Scared Girl, are about my increasing awareness of my biracial Black dilemma in our society. Prominent professional animator, Ron Zeitler, told the stories of my songs in lively animation throughout the liner notes.

There are several songs from former albums that I re-produced and included on the record, attempting a new musical perspective. The title song, If By Now, was composed waking from a dream where I literally heard the music and words to the beginning of the song.
