SCARED GIRL
PUT UP A FIGHT
IF BY NOW
Ruth's studies at FSU School of Music instructed her in classical voice training and song composition. Returning to South Florida, Ruth got her start as a live performance artist. Her School of Music years gave way to practical application in production as Ruth wrote musical scores for strings, brass, and the bassoon on her latest CD, HOME.
Born to Dot Records rhythm and blues recording artists, Ruth was surrounded by live original music from an early age. Ruth's stepfather, an outstanding jazz drummer, filled their home with musical genres of jazz and swing music. This music inspired her self-taught guitar playing, singing, and songwriting in later childhood years,
Ruth King has performed for many at the House of Blues, on concert stages, college circuits, and for music festival audiences nationally. Ruth’s original vibe is described as Acoustic Blues. The show draws on nuances of her musical origins and reaches into the hearts of folk, soul, jazz, rock, and blues enthusiasts.

MENTIONS AND REVIEWS
"Ruth King gave a stellar performance at the 2023 National Women's Music Festival. Great stage presence and connection to the audience"
-Linda Wilson, National Women's Music Festival
"There is such a raw emotion in your playing and a passion in your singing. So much so, I can tell that there is a story behind the song and singing is like your process of moving or breaking through it. That is what draws me to your sound. That cannot be reproduced, enhanced, or tweaked; it just is... refreshing. You are being you in your music. Thank you for creating music in a world of noise. Keep singing..."
